About the museum
A Mycenaean settlement was discovered at Archontiki on Psara, organised with streets and mudbrick houses in clusters. Even more important is its coastal necropolis, where more than 160 chamber tombs were excavated with rich grave goods, such as swords, tools, pottery, jewellery and seal stones.
Among the tombs a tholos tomb was also found, whose dead person was worshipped as a hero until the 5th century BC.
