About the museum
The Mouseio Karatheodori in Komotini is dedicated to the Greek mathematician Constantin Carathéodory. It holds the archives, scientific work, personal objects and family photographs of the scientist. The museum’s website offers an additional photo archive and a section with letters.
The museum also functions as an educational space: every year dozens of schools visit it so that pupils can get to know the work and theorems of Carathéodory, which are missing from school textbooks. With the relocation to a larger space, the organisation aims to turn it into a living and interactive cultural venue with exhibitions of scientific content, lectures, book presentations and documentary screenings.
