About the museum
The Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Collection of Sikinos is located on the central square of Chora, in the Kastro of the island, and is housed in a traditional two-storey house.
The collection displays the most important icons of the island, mainly post-Byzantine works of the Cretan School, as well as works of the Byzantine and post-Byzantine period from Sikinos, a section of an early Christian church and texts by travellers who visited the island.
The icons are exhibited only during the summer months; in winter they are kept in the church of Panagia Pantanassa.
