About the museum

The Csengeri Helytörténeti Múzeum (Csenger Local History Museum) collects in the fields of archaeology, history, ethnography, photography and other documents. Its objects consist of archaeological, ethnographic, historical and technical history collections, documentation, and photo and video recordings; the number of technical history objects exceeds 250, among them old radios, televisions, tape recorders and the first computers. The museum’s reference library holds literature on Csenger and Szatmár. The exhibitions present the history of Csenger from prehistoric times to the 1950s, its school and sports history, and the tools of farming and hemp processing.
