About the museum
In 1982 the Diósgyőr Paper Mill set up, from the historical relics of the factory, a paper industry exhibition that is unique in Central and Eastern Europe. The specialist collection follows the history of papermaking and of the factory: it includes objects, tools and documents, and an 18th-century papermaking workshop equipped in a period-accurate way.
As part of the exhibition, a film presents modern paper production, and in the papermaking workshop the hand papermaking technique is shown. The collection, which forms part of industrial heritage, is considered unique in Hungary.
