About the museum
The house in the centre of the Hadas district was the home of Kisjankó Bori (1876–1954), who, as the greatest Matyó pattern designer and draughtswoman, also received the title Népművészet Mestere (Master of Folk Art). The building has operated as an exhibition venue since 1974 and commemorates the life and work of the famous draughtswoman and the folk art of her time. The characteristic rooms of the houses of the period can be seen: the larder, the kitchen and the parlour (tisztaszoba), with their furnishings.
