About the museum
The idea for the heritage house was conceived in 1989 by an ethnographer and folk-dance teacher who moved to Maklár; the building was found in the centre of the village in 2016. The official opening took place on 19 April 2017, and in May 2018 the pantry and the street fence were completed. The exhibits were donated by residents of Maklár.
