About the museum
The József Attila Városi Könyvtár és Muzeális Gyűjtemény (József Attila Municipal Library and Museum Collection) in Komló stands on Városház tér and is also known as the Komlóverzum Visitor Centre. Alongside its library stock of many tens of thousands of volumes, which is continuously renewed, it presents local history, natural science and temporary exhibitions.
The permanent local history exhibition “Fejezetek Komló múltjából” (Chapters from the Past of Komló) recalls the Roman, medieval and modern-era remains of the town, with a special emphasis on the history of mining. The second permanent exhibition presents the natural science collection.
