About the museum
The heritage house operates in one of the town's oldest listed buildings, which after restoration was established as a memorial site of Tiszafüred's long-standing pottery tradition. The 19th-century house was furnished with original furniture and tools, and presents the living and working conditions of the elder and the younger Nyúzó Gáspár, potter masters.
Stepping from the porch with its classicist atmosphere into the entrance hall, then through the best room and the back room-workshop, visitors can get to know the domestic culture of the time, household work, clothing and customs, as well as the work processes of pottery. The potters of Füred also made once-fired black ceramics and glazed vessels, and their products were popular over a wide area of the Central Tisza region.
The heritage house operates as a branch of the Kiss Pál Múzeum. The museum's website also presents an archaeological excavation carried out on the grounds of the heritage house.
