About the museum
The Hollókő branch of the Postamúzeum opened in May 1990 in the protected centre of the World Heritage village. The permanent exhibition “Palócföld postája” (The Post of Palócföld) presents, in two rooms, the development of the postal network of the Palóc people, a folk group spread across several counties, as well as postal memorabilia relating to the Palóc. From postcards and stamps to banknotes, these depict characteristic Palóc landscapes, costumes and people.
The branch is a member of the Budapest Postamúzeum. The museum is currently closed for conversion; visitors can take a virtual 3D walk through it on the Postamúzeum website.
