About the museum
Rendek Tanya lies about 80 km from Budapest and 20 km from Kecskemét, on almost twenty hectares. For almost two decades, four generations have been preserving and passing on peasant culture here, cultivating indigenous and alternative plants and keeping indigenous animals against a living, period backdrop. The farmstead museum’s permanent exhibitions present indigenous animals, agricultural tools, organic farming and the past and present of the peasants of the Great Hungarian Plain (alföldi). The farm also organises educational programmes and experience camps.
