About the museum
Casa Morandi, in Via Fondazza, was the home of the painter Giorgio Morandi and his family from 1933 until the artist’s death in 1964. Today it is part of the Musei Civici d’Arte Moderna di Bologna (civic museums of modern art) and opens to the public the rooms in which Morandi lived and worked.
A multimedia route passes through the rooms, including the “stanza sul cortile” (room overlooking the courtyard), and presents the life and work of the master. Morandi’s library and documents are open for consultation, and the house also has a reading room and a multipurpose space for meetings and cultural events.
