Casa-museo al Ricetto

About the museum
The museum is located in the ricetto of Magnano, a medieval fortified enclosure on the hill above the village, founded in 1204 when Magnano became a free borough (borgo franco). The ricetto served as a safe place where the community stored its harvests and goods; it is still entered today through an ancient gate-tower and is laid out along three main streets, with barns, rooms and cellars with characteristic wooden doors.
The house museum is part of this setting and, according to a publication of the Province of Biella, can be visited only by booking through the Comune; the same source mentions a guided tour of about two hours and educational activities preceded by a short visit to the ricetto.
