About the museum
Villa Muscas is a building in Cagliari with a monastic layout, remodelled several times using different building techniques. It housed a school: between 1941 and 1945 the institute moved to Nurri, and the spaces were used by the military as a shelter for the wounded, a store for gas masks, ammunition and uniforms, and as guest quarters.
On the façade, restored after 1943, bullet holes remain, and an important bas-relief by Tilocca commemorates the students who fell in the war.
Today the complex houses a museum and rooms for meetings and conferences. The collection holds objects and machinery of the Sardinian rural world, and the activities proposed highlight the difficulties of agricultural production. The route is spread over three levels: the courtyard, the cloister and the rooms on the first floor.
