About the museum
The Civica Galleria d’Arte Contemporanea Filippo Scroppo was officially founded in 1975, but its core dates back to 1959. In that year Filippo Scroppo chose local artists from the Primo Autunno Pittorico of Torre Pellice, who were encouraged to donate to the town the works they had made for the event.
Since then the collection has grown to include around 450 works by Italian and foreign artists, from the Second World War to the present.
The gallery is a very active municipal museum which, alongside the collection, hosts exhibitions, meetings and educational activities.
