About the museum
The museum is located in the centre of Fobello, in Valsesia, in a period house. The exhibition presents lace, costumes and objects linked to the history of local dress.
At the heart of the displays is the puncetto, an ancient lace made only in Valsesia with needle and thread, joining many small knots to form the embroidery. According to tradition it arrived with the Saracen invasions of the 10th century.
The permanent exhibition offers a chance to discover a craft that is a distinctive feature of Fobello and of the whole valley.
