About the museum
The Civico Museo di Storia Patria is located at Via Imbriani 5 in Trieste and is one of the city’s civic museums. The current display, set up between 2007 and 2008, is divided into three sections: the history of Trieste, the Stavropulos art collections and a room devoted to textiles.
The central hall and two further rooms house the art collection donated in 1952 by Socrate Stavropulos, made up of about 150 works by Italian and European artists. The textile room presents mixed groups of fabric objects belonging to the Civici Musei di Storia ed Arte.
The museum’s website indicates that the building is currently closed to the public; the archive can be consulted at the Civico Museo della Guerra per la Pace “Diego de Henriquez”.
