About the museum
La Mizoun dal Countrabandìer is a museum trail in the Ferrere hamlet of Argentera, in the upper Valle Stura, devoted to the tradition of smuggling along the border with France. A traditional house has been rebuilt as it was a few decades ago, with a kitchen, a small bedroom and a mezzanine room.
In the different rooms, the objects illustrate the customs and work of the past. Alongside materials linked to smuggling, the testimonies of the last smugglers are on display, and a video in the Occitan language tells of their dangerous crossings in the mountains.
