About the museum
The museum was opened in 1992 by Rolando Comba and Maria Luisa and holds more than 1,500 objects documenting life in the past in the Unerzio valley, in the upper Maira valley. The objects were sought out and gathered over the years by Rolando, who had been passionate about history and traditions since childhood.
On the ground floor the workshops and crafts are reconstructed: the shoemaker, the carpenter, and the production of butter and cheese. On the upper floor you can see the furnishings of a mountain house used until a few decades ago, with farm tools, skis and snowshoes, hunting equipment, objects for winemaking and for laundry, as well as a depiction of the house and the stable.
The path “LaScurcio”, which links the hamlets of the valley, starts from Chialvetta.
