About the museum
The Molin de Pezol is a traditional water mill of the Val di Fassa, owned since the 19th century by the Rizzi family, known as “Salin”. After a careful restoration by the craftsman Giuseppe Longo of Tieser, it was opened to the public in 1983 as the first section on the territory of the Museo Ladin de Fascia.
The building contains two cereal millstones and a barley pestle, driven by three large water wheels. The complex also includes a primitive vertical pestle, a windmill and other outbuildings of the old milling plant, which illustrate the work of millers and the use of water power in the Ladin valleys.
The mill is part of the Istituto Culturale Ladino, which runs the Museo Ladin and its sections spread across the territory.
