Museo Augusto Murer

About the museum

The museum occupies the studio that the sculptor Augusto Murer, born in Falcade, commissioned in 1972 from the architect Giuseppe Davanzo. It was completed between 1972 and 1973. After the artist's death in 1985, his family and the association dedicated to him, the Associazione ERMA, turned the studio into a museum, which opened in summer 1986.

Murer began working wood in 1945 and later moved on to marble, ceramics and bronze. More than one hundred sculptures are displayed on three floors, alongside sacred works, drawings, oil paintings and art objects. The garden, open all year, holds around thirty outdoor bronzes, including Orpheus (1984) and figures of fauns, dancers and motherhood.

Over the years the studio museum has also become a venue for cultural events, with exhibitions, concerts and readings dedicated to Murer and other artists.
