About the museum
The exhibition “Etruschi a Parlascio” is a permanent display of finds made in the territory of Casciana Terme and Parlascio. It all began with the discovery of Etruscan materials on the medieval Rocca di Parlascio, which led to a series of excavations on the summit of the hill and on the plateau below. There, traces of a complex settlement were found, dating from the 7th century BC to the full Archaic period.
Among the objects on display is an antefix decorated with the “clava di Hercle”, the club of Hercle, that is, of Hercules, the hero-deity to whom the Etruscan temple of Parlascio is said to have been dedicated. The museum also holds prehistoric finds and the private collections of Africano Paffi and of the Bernardini family.
The museum is run by the Gruppo Archeologico “Le Rocche”. According to the address currently given by museum portals, the exhibition is located at Villa Borri, in Parlascio.
