About the museum
The museum of farming activities is in Usigliano, a hamlet of Casciana Terme Lari, in the cellar of the Vecchia Fattoria Castelli, an agritourism farm that produces oil, wine and grappa. Hundreds of objects, tools and implements used in field work until a few decades ago are displayed among the chestnut casks, two centuries old, which once held thousands of litres of wine.
The collection documents the rural life of the area and is part of the farm’s range of activities. In the same hamlet the folk association I Battitori di Grano is active, re-enacting the beating and threshing of wheat.
