About the museum
The museum is in Castel dell’Aquila, a hamlet of Montecastrilli, in the province of Terni, and presents a permanent display of farm tools and implements. The collection includes more than 3,000 pieces that bear witness to the history and everyday life of the farming communities that lived in the area.
The village was born as a defensive outpost of Todi: the castle was built on the Colle Nobile in 1294 to face Amelia, was destroyed in 1366 by troops serving Cardinal Albornoz, and was then rebuilt several times.
