About the museum
The museum has been housed since 1936 in Palazzo Mosca, the residence of the Mosca family, Bergamo merchants who became local nobles in the 16th century. The marchioness Vittoria Mosca left her collection to the city in 1885, and in 1888 opened a museum bearing the family name, which closed shortly afterwards.
The route, reorganised in 2013 by chronological and thematic criteria, extends over five rooms on the first floor. In the first is the Incoronazione della Vergine (Coronation of the Virgin) by Giovanni Bellini (around 1475), restored in 2021; the second houses majolica and decorative arts from Urbino, Pesaro, Gubbio and Deruta. There are also works by Guido Reni and Simone Cantarini and the Hercolani Rossini collection, acquired in 1883.
For accessibility, video guides in LIS and audio guides via NFC, Braille captions and tactile models are available.
