About the museum
The museum is housed in the Palazzo della Comunità, a 13th-century building in the historic centre of Segni. It first opened to the public in 2001 and was extended in 2006; since 2005 it has held the Quality Mark of the Lazio Region.
The exhibition is dedicated to the ancient and medieval town and its territory, and uses models and axonometric reconstructions to help visitors follow the urban phases. On display are significant sculptural groups, sacred and funerary inscriptions, decorative architectural elements and a large collection of Roman and medieval ceramics.
