About the museum
The museum occupies the ground floor of the parish house of the church of Chiuso, a district of Lecco, in the building where Don Serafino Morazzone lived for 49 years. Morazzone (1747–1822), ordained a priest in 1773, was immediately assigned to Chiuso and remained in that parish until his death. Tradition also remembers him as the confessor of Alessandro Manzoni.
The route brings together documents and objects linked to his life, to his relationship with Manzoni and to the devotion that arose after his death. In the main hall is a fresco of 1867 by Casimiro Radice depicting the conversion of the Innominato, a scene from the novel that the author set in this very parish house. Original lithographs of I promessi sposi made by Roberto Focosi around 1830 are also preserved. The museum is part of the museum system of the Province of Lecco.
