About the museum
The Museo Cabriniano occupies rooms in the first house opened by Frances Cabrini in Codogno, where on 14 November 1880 she arrived with the first companions to found the Istituto delle Missionarie del Sacro Cuore di Gesù. The route lets visitors enter by the same door, climb the same stairs and walk through the rooms where the sisters’ cells and the saint’s room were located.
Along the staircase are paintings made in 1950 by Aldo Cogni, known as “Cabri”, which summarise the main moments of Mother Cabrini’s life. In the large hall are display cases with documents, clothing, personal objects, relics, the Holy Child of the missions that was dear to her, documentation of graces and miracles, and a collection of autograph writings and biographies. A window allows visitors to see the saint’s room, still furnished with its original furniture. The heart of Saint Frances Cabrini is kept in the nearby Church of the Tabor. The display has been enhanced with multimedia installations, holographic panels, touch screens and audio guides in several languages.
