About the museum
The museum was founded in 1907 thanks to a bequest of works of art by Vincenzo Favenza, an antiquarian from Cremona who lived in Venice. Donations from private collectors later enlarged the collections. The seat is Palazzo Quartier Fino, next to the municipal library.
During the Second World War the museum lost several objects and historical evidence and remained closed; it reopened in 1969.
The route presents material ranging from the Quaternary to the 21st century, largely from the River Adda and the surrounding area. It includes a collection of historic weapons and objects linked to military art, an archaeological route from prehistory to the Roman period with vessels, inscriptions and ancient dugout canoes, as well as art objects. The municipality offers schools guided visits, readings and workshops.
