About the museum
The civic museum is housed in the Palazzo del Podestà in the upper part of Macerata Feltria and holds archaeological and palaeontological finds from the eastern Montefeltro. The route runs from prehistory to the Roman era and gives considerable space to the ancient city of Pitinum Pisaurense, whose remains lie within the municipal territory.
The eight rooms of the palace display the archaeological material. The palaeontology section is in the nearby Torre Civica (Civic Tower), where fossils found in the area are on display.
