About the museum
The museum occupies a hall in the former convent of San Francesco, a 14th-century building in Macerata Feltria, and is considered the second public museum in Italy dedicated to vintage radio. The core of the collection comes from the donation of the collector Carlo Chiuselli.
More than a hundred radios built between the 1920s and the 1960s in Italy, Germany, England, France and the United States are on display, all restored and working, together with loudspeakers, headphones, microphones and valves. The route is completed by photographs, technical bulletins, advertising posters, books and specialist magazines.
A small short-range medium-wave transmitter allows visitors to listen to speeches and musical pieces from the 1930s and 1940s on any of the sets on display.
