About the museum
The Museo civico di Foggia spans three levels. On the ground floor is the lapidarium, with the Tomb of the Medusa from the site of Arpi and Neolithic, Daunian, Roman and medieval finds. The upper floor houses a reconstruction of a typical terrazzani house and a collection of jewellery and objects donated by citizens of Foggia.
On the second floor there are two galleries: one archaeological, with material from Arpi, pottery, tools and bronzes, and one of paintings by artists such as Francesco Saverio Altamura, Domenico Caldara and Vincenzo Dattoli, up to the 19th century. The route begins with the Neolithic village of Passo di Corvo (6th–4th millennium BC), one of the largest and oldest in Europe.
