About the museum
The museum was founded in 1984, when the geological and palaeontological collection of Don Giuseppe Dalla Tomba was donated to the municipality of San Bonifacio. Dalla Tomba had been abbot of Villanova from 1939 to 1980. The donation stipulated that the collection should receive suitable museum accommodation.
The two rooms hold 21 display cases with fossils from many regions, representative of all geological eras, from the Archaean, about 4.6 billion years ago, onwards. Some specimens come from the fossil deposits of Bolca, and two display cases contain 78 minerals. The route illustrates the geology of the San Bonifacio area and the great changes in life on Earth.
