About the museum
The museum was founded in 1997 and occupies several rooms of the former baronial palace of Borrello, in Piazza Marconi, now the seat of the town hall. Its purpose is to preserve farm tools that have fallen out of use, such as baskets, pitchforks, scythes, mortars and digging sticks.
The main section, called “Neolithic Revolution”, is divided into four parts: working the soil and cultivating vegetable gardens; harvesting the grain and loading the crop onto pack animals; transporting the harvest by people and animals; and wine production.
Another section features photographs, including those of the 1990 restoration of the mother church of Sant'Egidio and of the recovery of the remains from the tombs inside the church.
