About the museum
The museum is housed in the so-called Catacombs of San Cono, underground spaces beneath the church of the same name in Naso. It was opened to the public in May 2002 with the aim of preserving and enhancing the historic and artistic heritage of the village’s churches.
The route is arranged in four sections with works and liturgical furnishings dating from between the 15th and 18th centuries. The first section presents wooden sculptures and maiolica made by local ceramicists; the second gathers old vestments, a bronze bell and objects belonging to the confraternities.
The third section holds canvas paintings and stone works, including a panel with the Madonna and Sleeping Child from the early 16th century, attributed to the circle of Joos van Cleve, and two ovals attributed to Olivio Sozzi. The last section is devoted to silver furnishings, such as chalices, monstrances and reliquaries, and to votive objects.
