About the museum
The museum is a branch section of the Museo diocesano di Tortona. Opened by Monsignor Martino Canessa in 2009, it is housed as a permanent exhibition on the piano nobile (main floor) of Palazzo Spinola, in two rooms overlooking the central hall.
Most of the works have never been published before: objects are displayed that worshippers recognise or whose function they have forgotten, together with paintings and sculptures that are not always of great value but are significant, because they make it possible to rediscover a local history that can be reclaimed.
