About the museum
The Museo Casa dell'Alpino in Domodossola, named after Don Carlo Righini, documents the life and deeds of the Alpine troops through a systematic collection of uniforms, insignia, mementos, equipment, photographs and documents. It consists of two rooms that trace the history of the Alpini corps from its establishment in 1872 to the present day, through the wars of the late 19th and 20th centuries up to the peacekeeping missions of the new millennium.
The route is chronological and linear, and visits are always guided. Alongside the collection, attention is paid to the sequence of events that marked the history of the Ossola Alpine region. One section is devoted to Don Carlo Righini, with objects that reconstruct his military life as chaplain of the Alpini and his life as a priest. Since 2015 the museum has also hosted an exhibition for the centenary of the First World War, with historical references, documents and mementos connected with the Alpini.
