About the museum
The Museo del Bottone in Santarcangelo di Romagna presents a collection of around 8,500 buttons. The display was curated by Giorgio Gallavotti.
The exhibition is divided into three sections: the history of the button in the 20th century, with its materials and how they changed; buttons from the 18th and 19th centuries; and a section of curiosities from all over the world. Captions, iconographic references taken from the Enciclopedia della Moda e del Costume and information sheets on materials such as mother-of-pearl and corozo accompany the visit.
