About the museum
Giovanni Pascoli was born in San Mauro di Romagna on 31 December 1855 and died in Bologna on 6 April 1912. He was one of the major Italian poets of the late 19th century, with a poetics founded on the “fanciullino” (the child within) and on the value of the particular and the everyday.
In his honour, the municipality of his birth took on its present name, San Mauro Pascoli, in 1932. The Casa Pascoli, on Via Pascoli, preserves the memory of the poet and his family and is one of the places in the town dedicated to him.
