About the museum
The museum is housed on the ground floor of the Palazzo Comunale (town hall) in Santa Giuletta, is owned by the municipality and operates as a permanent non-profit institution. It is named after Quirino Cristiani, born in Santa Giuletta and regarded as a forerunner of Disney: he made the first feature-length cartoon (1917) and the first feature-length animated film with sound (1931).
The collection includes dolls, toys, casts, photographs and documents linked to the local factories and workshops of the last century. The town’s production history begins in 1933; the museum also commemorates the creation of Topo Gigio (1968), the puppet Five for Canale 5 (1975) and the Olympic mascot Misha for the Moscow Games (1980).
