About the museum
The museum occupies four restored rooms of the seventeenth-century core of the Duomo of Monte Porzio Catone. The route is devoted to the history of the Castelli Romani area and gathers evidence from the pre-Roman age to the nineteenth century.
The oldest section presents finds from Tusculum and the Tusculan villas, including a polychrome mosaic, frescoes, coins and inscriptions. These are followed by medieval and Renaissance materials, such as a papal bull and some maiolica, and documents from the 17th to 19th centuries. A small room is equipped for video projections.
