About the museum
The museum is housed in a farmhouse built in the 1950s in the countryside of Formello, in the geographic heart of the Veio Regional Park. Under the agrarian reform the building was assigned to a farmhand from the town, and the farm is still operating, with cultivated fields and farm animals.
The collection holds the tools used by farmers and draught animals. The Lazio Region recognised it as a museum of local interest in 2009. The farmhouse also serves as an information point for the Veio Park, providing news on the area’s historical and natural heritage.
The museum is run by the cultural association La Valigia dei Sogni, which organises guided tours for schools and a programme of events entitled “In viaggio nella Campagna romana” (Journey through the Roman Countryside).
