About the museum
The museum is located in Oliveto, a hamlet of Imperia, on Salita Garzini. It houses a selection of over five hundred devices that trace the history of communications: from the first electronics experiments and Volta’s pile, to the telegraph and telephone, to sound recording with the phonograph and gramophone, and on to digital acquisitions.
The main part of the collection is devoted to radio and gives great prominence to Guglielmo Marconi. On display are devices produced by the Marconi workshops in Genoa, galena crystal radios, popular receivers from the Fascist era (il ventennio) and the first transistor radio ever built in the world.
