About the museum
The museum occupies the spaces of a 17th-century rural complex known as the Corte dei Cappello, at Ca' Cappello in the municipality of Porto Viro, and is run by the Parco regionale veneto del Delta del Po.
It is an ethnographic museum that reconstructs the typical settings of the peasant civilisation of the Polesine. On the ground floor are a 1950s country tavern and a kitchen with the characteristic fireplace; upstairs are a bedroom and the attic, with children's games and everyday objects.
On the walls, images illustrate many trades of the last century that have since disappeared, and in every room a panel explains the activities carried out and the use of the objects on display.
