About the museum
The museum was built around the remains of a Bronze Age village discovered in 1929 on the shores of Lake Ledro. The pile-dwelling settlement dates back about 4,000 years and was inhabited between 2200 and 1350 BC. Since 2011 the site has been part of the “Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps”, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The museum is a branch of the MUSE – Museum of Science of Trento in the area and leads ReLED, the museum network of the Ledro Valley. The building holds the LEED environmental sustainability certification, Gold level.
The route presents original finds, reconstructions and the archaeological site, and also includes a reconstructed village in the open air.
