About the museum
The Museo delle Acque was opened in 2004 in Crespino, in the Polesine, a village known for the myth of Phaethon and always linked to the Po river, which, together with agriculture, was the main source of livelihood for its inhabitants. It is located on the right-hand side of the town hall, in Piazza Fetonte.
Through a series of finds, the museum tells of daily activities along the waterways: from fishing to work in floating mills, from flood prevention during high-water periods to the reconstruction after the 1951 flood, which deeply marked the Polesine.
It is a municipal ethnographic museum: the Comune di Crespino presents it in the section on the history and territory of its website.
