About the museum
The museum is in the medieval church of San Biagio, just outside the city walls of Urbisaglia, a few steps from Porta Vittoria. The church, regarded as a symbolic link between the ancient Urbs Salvia and the modern town, was turned into a war memorial (Sacrario) after the Second World War on the initiative of local combatants and ex-servicemen, then donated to the Municipality and designated a permanent museum.
The memorial commemorates the soldiers who fell in the two World Wars. Outside, in a green area with plants and ornamental hedges that invite reflection, there are cannons, bombs, flagpoles, a commemorative stone and three slabs with the names of the fallen.
Inside is the Museo delle Armi e delle Uniformi Militari, which displays relics from the Risorgimento to the Second World War.
