About the museum
The museum is located in the “San Filippo” room of the Collegio dei Nobili, inside the Cistercian Abbazia di Fontevivo, and displays the accordion collection donated to the municipality by the collector Vitelli. The result of long research and recovery work, the collection brings together around thirty period instruments from different parts of the world.
The instruments, dating from the late 19th to the 20th century, offer an overview of the history and of the technical and decorative evolution of the accordion. Among the examples stands out the one donated by the widow of Gigi Stok, accordionist and composer who grew up in Bianconese, a village in Fontevivo, after whom the museum is named.
