About the museum
The museum is housed in the 14th-century loggia and in some rooms of the rectory adjoining the church of Sant'Andrea in San Donnino, in the municipality of Campi Bisenzio. The church, of medieval foundation and remodelled and enlarged several times, has its present 15th-century appearance.
The collection gathers, preserves and displays the rich historical and artistic heritage of the ancient churches of Sant'Andrea and San Donnino, encouraging its rediscovery and its links with the territory and its history. In addition to goldsmiths' work, documents and altar vestments, it includes 15th-century works that form its main core.
The route is completed inside the church, where a Madonna and Child with saints attributed to the workshop of Domenico Ghirlandaio, a panel by Francesco Botticini and a crucifix by Giovanni di Francesco are kept. The museum also offers two educational workshops.
