About the museum
The museum is housed in the Palazzo dei Vescovi in Saluzzo, in Via Maghelona, and displays sacred art objects from the 15th to the 20th century, mainly from the Cathedral of Maria Vergine Assunta and the churches of the diocese.
The collections include liturgical furnishings, ceramics, illuminated manuscripts, paintings, early printed books, vestments, sculptures, goldsmiths’ work and textiles. Among the best-known pieces is a nativity scene (presepe) of the Genoese school, linked to the circle of Maragliano and dating between the 18th and 19th century, from the parish church of Cardè. It has painted wooden statues and glass figures dressed in period costumes.
Visits are free and by appointment.
